First Race of the Season
Colonial Beach Virginia

We went to our first race on Sunday at Colonial Beach Virginia. We made a shakedown pass before qualifying which resulted in major tire shake. This caused the ignition to shut off do to a wire coming apart.

The first round of qualifying we had made some changes to the car. As I went to launch the car the transbrake failed do to another wire coming loose from the tire shake from the first run.

Tire shake is very violent and trashes a lot of things. We ended up qualifying 16th. We were lucky to get in the show. We had to run the # 8th qualifier again.  I had tire shake & lost another wire causing the motor to shut off again.

Not a great day. To make it worse I trashed my back on Saturday. If it hadn't been for my crew doing all the work I wouldn't have been there.

We are looking forward to our next race. The car has great potential this year. Working out the kinks to get there is the challenge.
